Rita Coffey to Serve on the Executive Committee of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors®

WALTHAM, Mass.
 – December 5, 2018 – Rita Coffey, Carver resident and general manager at CENTURY 21 Tullish & Clancy in Weymouth, will serve as immediate past president of the Massachusetts Association of Realtors® (MAR) in 2019. 

As MAR Immediate Past President, Coffey will serve in an advisory capacity to the current MAR president, act as an association spokesperson, and assist in the administration of the affairs of MAR between meetings of the MAR Board of Directors.  In this role, she also will serve on the MAR Executive Committee and Board of Directors during 2019. 

Prior to serving her term as 2018 MAR President, Coffey served as president-elect in 2017 and was the 2016 South Shore Region Vice President.  She was the 2015 recipient of the MAR Public Policy and Property Right Advocacy Award.  Coffey has been a member of the MAR Board of Directors as either a Director or Alternate Director since 2004 and was a Realtors® Political Action Committee (RPAC) Trustee for a number of years.  In 2015, Coffey was the chair of the MAR RPAC Trustees, and she has been the Chair of the Professional Standards, Communications and Public Relations and Forms Content Advisory Committees.  In 2019 she will chair the Awards and Recognition Committee and be a member of the Personnel Committee.  

At the local level, Coffey was the 2009 President of the South Shore Realtors®.  She served as a director from 2005 to 2010 during which time she was recognized as a Realtor® of Outstanding Service.  In 2011 she was named South Shore Realtors® Realtor® of the Year and from 2013 to 2015 Coffey was the chair of the Government Affairs Committee. 

At the national level, Coffey was a National Association of Realtors® (NAR) Director in 2018 and 2011.  In 2015, she served on the RPAC Participation Council for Massachusetts.  She also served on the NAR RPAC Major Investor Council in 2016.  Coffey was the Massachusetts representative on the NAR Insurance Committee in 2015 and 2016.  She has been the Federal Political Coordinator to Congressman William Keating since 2011 and the Federal Political Coordinator to the Massachusetts Insurance Commissioner.  She also served on the Broker Involvement Council from 2013 to 2014.  In 2019, she will serve on the MAR Board of Directors and the Membership Policy and Board Jurisdiction Committee.  

A Realtor® since 1983, Rita has earned her Certified Real Estate Brokerage Manager (CRB) and Loss Mitigation Certification (LMC) professional designations.
